MISSION : To make antimicrobial protection a built-in property of everyday plastic not an add-on, not a coating, not an afterthought.
Oryx Pro is the consumer and industrial-facing brand of Polyamyna Nanotech Pvt Ltd, an Indian materials science company. We didn’t start by asking “how do we sell filament” we started by asking “how do we stop plastic from being a place where microbes multiply.” That question led us to copper, one of the oldest known antimicrobial materials, and to years of formulation work figuring out how to compound it into 3D printing polymers without sacrificing print quality.
The result is India’s first antimicrobial 3D printing filament line, manufactured in-house, and a B2B masterbatch business that brings the same technology to manufacturers who mold, extrude, and spin plastic at scale.
- Why copper. Why now.
Copper has been documented as an antimicrobial surface material for centuries, and its mode of action is well understood: copper ions disrupt microbial cell membranes and interfere with cellular processes on contact.
Most "antimicrobial" plastic products on the market achieve this with a surface spray or coating which wears off, scratches away, or needs periodic reapplication.
Oryx Pro filaments and masterbatches compound copper particles directly into the base polymer during manufacturing. The antimicrobial property is a property of the material itself, present through the entire cross-section of every printed layer not a film on top of it.
Because the copper is embedded, not coated, the antimicrobial action persists across the working life of the printed part: repeated cleaning, handling, and abrasion don't strip it away the way they strip a surface treatment.
Durability, not just defence
Copper particle integration doesn’t just fight microbes, in our formulations it also contributes to a denser, more UV- and wear-resistant final print, meaning parts hold their antimicrobial performance and their mechanical integrity together, for longer.
We test before we tell you, not after.
Every formulation goes through antimicrobial efficacy testing against relevant standard test methods, alongside standard mechanical testing (tensile strength, layer adhesion, dimensional accuracy) so that antimicrobial performance is verified alongside not instead of print quality.
